My other excellent news: I have just signed a contract with Tirgearr Publishing to publish the sequel to The Promise of Kierna'Rhoan--THE SECRET OF NARAVA! I'm very excited about this. More details as I have them but we're looking at a release date in late spring of 2012. Check back in for me.

SIGHTINGS: Catch me at Babbling about Books and More on Tuesday, January 31, talking about the early days of e-publishing. I've been around that world for a long time now, thirteen years! Come chat about how this crazy industry got started.

It's official, BRIGHTARROW BURNING is out now (well still pre-order until Tuesday, but still, it's available!). The book is available directly from Samhain Publishing, Amazon, B&N Nook as well as most other e-tailers. Right now both Amazon and Samhain have the book at a lovely discount so please check it out. (And buy a copy while you're there :)) I'm really excited about this release. I hope readers will enjoy Layla and Ulric's story. (They got really good cover art to go with their book, didn't they?)

Spring has Sprung--and it's still cold!

Happy Spring fellow readers!

I have a new fantasy romance novella coming out from Samhain Publishing in the autumn (current release date October 4, 2011, but watch here for any changes).

The story was originally titled Elf Fire--which was perfectly adequate and suited the story. But the most excellent editorial directors at SP didn't like it and wanted me and my editor to think of something else. We thought, we debated, we asked for other opinions, we went several rounds. And finally we found a title we all loved!

My autumn release from Samhain Publishing will be called BRIGHTARROW BURNING! (Pretty cool title, huh?)

I'll post the official blurb when I get one and as soon as I see the final cover art, I'll be sure to show it off. In the meantime, here's an unoffiical blurb to whet the appetite:

Layla Brightarrow's world fell apart the day the Sorcerers invaded her city. Abandoned by the neighboring elven kingdom, her people struggle to stay alive. Then some of the elves break their neutrality and side with the Sorcerers. We're officially into one of my favorite months of the year leading up to my favorite holiday. Happy Halloween month!!

SIGHTINGS: My lovely local RWA chapter, NYC RWA has decided to change the regular August meeting into a book fair which will be open to the public and feature some of our local authors (myself included). Swing by with your family on your Saturday outings and pick up some good summer reading! The signing is Saturday, August 7th, starting at 12pm at TRS located at 44 East 32nd Street, 11 floor (also the location of our regular chapter meetings if you're in NYC and looking for a supportive writers group to join).

I'll be signing THE PROMISE OF KIERNA'RHOAN and SIREN SINGING and I might well bring a couple of other books with me so be sure to come in and say hi!

Next week is the official start of the Romantic Times convention in Columbus, OH (April 24-May2). I'm hoping to see lots of you there. Be sure to say hello!

Look for me on the schedule, I will be with Linnea Sinclair and her gang of extraordinary authors at the Intergalactic Bar and Grille on Wednesday evening. I'm doing a workshop on writing fight scenes with Linnea, Leanna Renee Hieber and Stacey Klemstein (aka Stacey Kade) on Friday. We'll be using stage combat techniques and some real life experience to help with visualizing and choreographing fight scenes in your books. Directly after that workshop I'm on an e-publishing panel--a big deal at the moment so stop by! And of course I'll be at both the ebook signing Friday night and the Book Fair on Saturday. Should be great fun!

In the run up to my official start at RT, I'll also be doing a live chat/interview with Phoebe Jordan at Blog Talk Radio on Tuesday (April 27) at 6pm EST. Be srue to listen in and if you're brave, call with questions, if not brave, you can also send in questions by email. Follow HERE to reach the talk.

Hi from a chilly wet New York! Spring will come soon. We have to keep up hope!

AUTHOR SIGHTINS: I'll be giving a talk at the Claredon Library in Brooklyn on April 6th at 6pm. Anyone in the area please come out and visit! I'll be answering questions about anything you want to know about books, writing, publishing. I'm at the audience's disposal. I'll also do a little reading from THE PROMISE OF KIERNA'RHOAN, and have a few copies of books for those interested.

From April 24-May2nd, I'll be at the Romantic Times Convention in Columbus, Ohio. If you're in the area, or attending the conference, be sure to say HI! I'll be participating in some really excellent panels this year, including one on choreographing and writing fight scenes using stage combat techniques! Hope everyone is staying warm in this very cold start to the new year!

I have a few bits of exciting news to announce for this month! To my unexpected delight, my Ellora's Cave, Prism Award winning novel, SIREN SINGING, is now out in paperback! It's also on sale at the moment, so hurry over to get your copy!

I've said it once, I'll say it again, I LOVE Halloween. Hope everyone has great plans for the holiday. My little one is going as a pirate if I can get him to keep the hat on. If not, he's going as a city baby in a pirate shirt :)

Just a quick reminder that I have a short sf romance Christmas story in the December issue of Romantic Times magazine. Subscribers should have the issue now. Those of you who aren't subscribers, please be sure to look for a copy at your local bookstore.

The story is called Christmas on Eldora Station. Some of you may recognize the Eldora Station part. There is another longer short story here on the site called Last Call on Eldora Station. The two stories are only related in that they take place on the same space station. But I hope you'll enjoy them both.

I'm also considering making short Eldora Station stories a regular thing on my blog. If you have any opinion on this potential project, please email me. I'd love to hear if this is something readers would like.

Yay! Finally after 10 years being in and out of print electronically, THE PROMISE OF KIERNA'RHOAN is finally making it's first appearance in paperback. And the paperbacks are so pretty--worth waiting for :)

Please stop by Samhain Publishing and check it out. You can get the book online or at any bookstore. Hopefully it'll show up on the shelves :) But if not it should be very easy to order in.

I'm going to post an excerpt on my Blog so swing by if you want to read a bit more. Also, visit the NYC/RWA blog on October 2nd to read a little more about how I came up with the idea for ths novel as well as the scene that started it all.

SIREN SINGING WON!

The Gathering is the FF&P chapter of RWA's annual get together which takes place during the RWA National convention. At The Gathering, the winners of the Prism Awards are announced. As SIREN SINGING was a finalist in the erotic romance category and as Nationals was in Washington DC this year--which is close enough to get to cheaply--I traveled down for the event.

I had no thought that I might win so I went with my date (my baby boy--twitter name Destructo) and one of my best friends, Leanna Renee Hieber (who was also a finalist in the novella category with her brilliant story, DARK NEST) with every intention of having a good time and cheering whatever place I got. Many years ago, THIEF'S DESIRE took Third Place in the Prism Awards, so if I came in Second, I'd be moving up the ranks.

Turns out, SIREN SINGING actually WON! Needless to say, I was thrilled and completely unprepared with anything like a decent speech. I did remember to thank my brilliant editor, Mary Altman, and my dear friend, Claire (she helped me with the initial idea for this story while we were on holiday in Costa Rica). But Destructo decided my speech was a good time to start crying so I probably made a hash of the rest. At any rate, I was incredibly honored to even final and to have won is an overwhelming honor. So here, I'd like to thank FF&P for all their support as a chapter and for the tremendous organization that goes into the Prisms every year. In other news: I'll mention this again closer to the date, but for those of you in NYC or near to NYC, I will be doing a reading at Lady Jane's Salon the first Monday of September (September 7th) along with my friend Leanna (who's novella also won, btw! yay, Leanna!) who's historical fantasy novel, THE STRANGELY BEAUTIFUL TALE OF MISS PERCY PARKER will be out from Dorchester August 25th. Exciting News for My Birthday Month

I got some truly exciting news this weekend. My erotic science fiction romance novel, SIREN SINGING, is a finalist in the 2009 Prism Awards! This particular contest, sponsored by the Futuristic, Fantasy & Paranormal chapter of RWA, has become quite prestigious over the years and I'm just elated to have finalled against such strong competition.

The awards are handed out at RWA Nationals convention in Washington, D.C. this year, at an event called The Gathering. I'll list the order of winners here once they've been announced. For more on the contest and the chapter, visit them here.

Another little update, I'm not officially on Twitter. Yes, I gave in. Since finding time to blog and do the other social networks with baby on the loose has proven difficult, I thought I'd give Twitter a try. Spring is in the Air

Just back from the Romantic Times convention and I had a great time! The new addition travelled with me to Orlando. That was an interesting experience. But he was such a good baby, we ended up having a really good time. He even slept through most of the Starships and Sorcery panel I was on, which was good since it was a fun panel with some really great questions by the readers/writers in attendance. I'd like to thank my fellow panel members (Jade Lee, C.L. Wilson, Catherine Asaro, Ann Aguirre, and Stacey Klemstein) as well as our captain (Linnea Sinclair) and our moderator (Leanna Renee Hieber) for making the discussion so lively and interesting.

Also, hooray for another successful year for the Intergalactic Bar & Grille. Linnea Sinclair's reader party was once again a great party thanks to all the participating authors: Stacey Klemstein, Jade Lee, Catherine Asaro, Leanna Renee Hieber, Janet Miller, Liddy Midnight, Ann Aquirre and (though she wasn't there in person, she was there in spirit) Colby Hodge. For those going to RT, this is the readers workshop to attend, if I do say so myself. And wonder of wonders, the baby slept through the whole thing, despite the noise. Talk about a spacey party! :)

Before that, we also had a brilliant time at the Celebrate Romance conference in Portland, OR. This is another one I highly recommend. I gave a talk on how I came to read romance from my science background and had to admit to a room full of romance readers that--back in the day before I really knew anything about the genre, I actually believed the bodice ripper image. Obviously, I got over that idea, and I'm so glad I did!

On the upcoming news side of things, I have a print release date for THE PROMISE OF KIERNA'RHOAN. It will be released October 1, 2009. I believe the bookstores will start taking preorders by September, but I'll keep you updated on that. In the meantime, the e-book is currently available at Samhain Publishing.

Happy Holiday Release!

After three years out of print, THE PROMISE OF KIERNA'RHOAN is available December 5th from Samhain Publishing. Isn't the new cover art fabulous! The book has been edited and a few things added including excerpts from Kira's journal at the start of each chapter. Changes have been made from the original, so I'm posting an updated excerpt on my blog.

There is some Kierna'Rhoan pages on the website, but they do have to be updated, so forgive any discrepancies (my fault--being a new mom has put me shockingly behind in all things web related :))

And since we're coming into the holiday season, if you haven't read them yet, don't forget my two little Christmas stories: CHRISTMAS HELP HER from Ellora's Cave (also available in the WICKED WINTER paperback anthology) and CHRISTMAS PRESENT from Echelon Press.

Two New Books!

So this is it, the long awaited release of SIREN SINGING is this Friday--Friday the 13th of all days. I love Friday the 13ths. Not sure why, but they've always been lucky for me. I'm hoping this one will be lucky too. May Days

Well RT was quite the interesting week. Fun and entertaining. And for those of you who frequent the blogs, you've no doubt read most of the gossip by now. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my role as "pregnant lady with sword" aka "the pregnant ninja" for the Intergalactic Bar & Grille. If I can find some pictures, I'll post them. (I didn't have a camera so I'll have to rely on someone else's snaps). But it was great fun and I highly recommend attended the Bar & Grille next year in Orlando. Captain Linnea is promising even more entertainment. And maybe "the no longer pregnant ninja" will bring "baby with sword" to help play.

You can't exactly see the pregnant part, but I was interviewed by the Rebels of Romance for a video blog for RT. Scroll down to "RT Convention Video Blog: Day 1" and take a peek. It's all a bit of fun.

On the news front, I should have a fantasy romance novella out from Crescent Moon Press by the end of this month. We're just waiting on cover art. The novella is called LADY OF THE HERD and is an expanded version of a story I originally wrote years ago. When the story goes live I'll make an announcement here and in my newsletter.

Also, the release date for SIREN SINGING is approaching fast. Keep June 13th marked on your calenders. I really enjoyed writing this novel, and since it's to be the start of a series, I'm hoping you readers will enjoy it too! An excerpt will be posted closer to the release date.

Finally, I've started blogging in a more traditional sense. I've got a blog that's separate from this home page. Mostly, it's for me to ramble about life, pregnancy, and occasional weird philosophies. The current post is the result of getting tagged by my friend and fellow author Leanna Renee Hieber. (Who, btw, just had her first fiction novella published with Crescent Moon Press and it's brilliant! It's called Dark Nest. Go read it.). I had to report 6 quirky things about myself. That's always interesting. LOL Have a stop in and comment if you like. There's also a very cute picture of me and Colby Hodge at the RT booksigning.

This particular blog just for a bit of fun, so I won't be doing much in the way of promoting my books there. Welcome Back Spring!

Except it's still cold here in NY! And boy am I looking forward to some warmer weather.

Celebrate Romance was a great fun event again this year. A great group of authors and readers got together and much entertainment and chat was had. On Friday night, Jade Lee and Elizabeth Hoyt entertained us with a great game that was a cross between Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit--including some fun naughty questions, book trivia, and movie trivia. The discussion groups and speakers on Saturday were all very entertaining, including the Keynote speaker Stephanie Bond.

Sunday morning I was the last speaker, with another "Now for something completely different" talk--this one on Mythic Creatures and their possible natural histories (thanks go to the American Museum of Natural History for inspiring this talk with their Mythic Creatures exhibit). After the talks, the authors signed books and gift baskets were given away before we had to say sad fairwells until next year. I have such an excellent time at this conference every year, I just can't recommend it enough.

As those of you who went to CR know (and those of you planning on going to RT will soon see), I'm pregnant with my first. This will put me out of circulation for a couple of months over the summer, but when I'm up and running again, I'll post a few baby pictures. Since baby will probably be accompanying me to booksignings, we're going to start getting baby used to the spotlight now. :)

I'll be 6 1/2 months along by the Romantic Times conference. Those of you attending--be sure to hide your food! As a little sneak preview for RT, be sure to stop in at the Intergalactic Bar & Grille again this year. We've got lots of great things planned--food, drink, goodie bags, games and prizes, and hopefully Sin the Bartendar will be making an appearance. Captain Linnea Sinclair is promising a rousing good time for all the spacey types attending, so be sure not to miss out.

NEWS: You'd think being pregnant would be news enough, but I do have a little writing news to announce. First, I have a release date for my new book from Ellora's Cave, SIREN SINGING. Look for the book on June 13th. This is the first in a new science fiction romance series I'm writing called Warrior Born. Watch this space for an upcoming excerpt, but for the moment, here's a blurb:

The final little bit of news is that you can now find IN THE GLOAMING in bookstores. This is the erotic fantasy romance anthology with myself, JC Wilder and Carolan Ivey. And if you can't find it in your local bookstore, order it so they'll get it in! My first sighting of the book on the shelves was at the Borders outside of Madison Square Garden. That was cool :)

Mid-Winter Update

I can't believe how fast the year is going already! It's nearly February. But hopefully it's proving an excellent year so far for everyone.

AUTHOR SIGHTING:
I'll be attending Celebrate Romance again this year. It will be in Columbia, South Caroline from February 29 - March 2. I'm giving another one of my animal talks this year, only this time I'm dealing with mythical creatures. There will also be a booksigning for the general public at Books-A-Million on Saturday night from around 5:30pm to 7:30pm. But for those of you who want face time with your favorite authors and a more laid back booksigning on the Sunday, try to attend this wonderful reader based conference! It's always so much fun.

My New York RWA Chapter has been doing some really exciting things lately, including holding a contest for short shorts called Love Bits in the Big Apple, where all the stories were to be set around a NY landmark. I entered and was one of the lucky seven winners! The winning stories wil be posted, one a day for a week, on the chapter MySpace page from February 10-17. There will be contests and drawings run during the week, so be sure to stop in every day and read the winners. My story will be posted on the final Sunday (February 17th). And for those of you hoping for a little bit more from Cary and Deacon in The Trouble with Black Cats and Demons, my story revisits these characters. The story is called The Trouble with Muggers and Demon Dogs :) Let me know what you think!

Another exciting new feature of the NYRWA chapter is the video interviews being posted on our updated website. You can see little old me discussing the business side of e-publishing as well as many of our published authors and members discussing their books and the business. Please stop by and give it a look. Happy October!

Well, autumn is just flying by (arh, arh, arh), but the weather is lovely. I adore this time of year, and we're coming up to my most favorite holiday--HALLOWEEN! Yay! Unfortunately, my schedule has made running a spooky contest this month tough. We'll try for something in November/December.

BUT I do have a bit of NEWS to announce, so that makes for a good month too :)

First the new RELEASE: BONFIRE NIGHT, my paranormal erotic romance Quickie from Ellora's Cave, will be out on October 24th. Be sure to pick up your copy. AUGUST IS A BUSY MONTH!

Okay, I know the site isn't updated yet, and a month ago I mentioned it would be updated soon. This is primarily my fault for being a waffly kind of author and driving my poor webmistress bonkers with my indecision. For her part, my poor beleagered webmistress has been very busy too! BUT we're nearing in on a final site overhaul, so keep stopping by to see the new look :)

And now for the NEWS:

DESTINY'S SEDUCTION is finally available from Cerridwen Press! Woohoo!! Read an excerpt here or at Cerridwen Press (which is a different excerpt than the one on this site, so you get a double dose of the book ). DESTINY'S SEDUCTION is the award winning sequel to THIEF'S DESIRE and takes up the tale roughly twenty years later when the baby, Arlana, is grown.

And speaking of THIEF'S DESIRE, you can finally pick up a paperback copy of this book from Cerridwen Press! The paperback should also be available through Amazon.com and can be ordered at your local bookstore by the end of September.

Now you can buy them both and read them one after another. It'd be fun :)

Also, I have a free short prose poem up at a new publisher's site. Go to Crescent Moon Press and visit The Glade. My prose poem is called SINGS THE FOREST. And finally, some of the Samhain authors have gotten together to put out an unofficial monthly newsletter--THE SAMHELLION. Each month will have a specific theme (September's theme is Beginnings in honor of the new school year). There will be articles on writing, life, food, fitness, fiction short stories and all manner of things to entertain. The first issue is due out on September 15th. My article in that issue is about the gypsy-ish lifestyle I've been living.

Marshall's Guard in PRINT!

My webmistress and I are working on a total revamp of the website, so I've been delaying updates, but I thought this bit of news couldn't wait :)

MARSHALL'S GUARD has finally made it into print! Yayay! With a new cover and everything. What do you think of the new cover? Pretty cool, huh? :)

At the moment, the print edition of this award winning book can be purchased directly from Cerridwen Press. Within the next month, it should be available from Amazon and within the next two months or so, it should be available through bookstores.

And one other little bit of news: I officially have a release date (finally!) for Destiny's Seduction as well. The e-book will be re-released on August 23, 2007 from Cerridwen Press. And Thief's Desire is scheduled to go to print this summer. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as that book hits the warehouse too!

It's That Time of Year Again

RT is here! And I'm in the final throws of getting ready for this mammoth week out :) Looking forward to the warmer weather in Houston as it's been just a little too chilly in NYC. Especially since it's April! LOL.

For those of you who are attending RT, please stop me in the halls and say Hi. Wave a hand in my face to get my attention. I will be dazed and confused and will no doubt look it :)

I'm participating in the Intergalactic Bar & Grill readers workshop on Wednesday (4-5pm) with fellow writers: Linnea Sinclair, Rowena Cherry, Susan Grant, Colby Hodge, Barbara Karmazin, Susan Kearney, Stacey Klemstein, Deidre Knight, Janet Miller aka Cricket Starr

We'll be playing games, giving away prizes and generally just having a good time so I encourage you to swing by.

I'll also be doing a little schpeel at the Beginner Writers workshop on Tuesday afternoon, so if you're signed up for that, I'll see you there! My good friend Judi McCoy is running this workshop and has for the last few years, and she always puts together a great learning program for beginners.

Other than that, I will be at the booksigning on Saturday. I'll have copies of SUM3 to sign (yay!) so stop by and say Hi and pick up a copy of this excellent anthology.

Hi all! Happy February. Did everyone have a nice Valentines day?

Well I'm having a very exciting week this week. I officially have two books out. SUM3, the anthology of Zircon Short Stories, is available in paperback from Amazon.com (finally!). This book is chocked full of brilliant speculative romance short stories, so I'd highly recommend picking up a copy. And enjoy!

The Heron's Call

As the shadows stepped into the faint light from the crescent moon, she realized they weren't ordinary robbers. Their linen shirts were too clean, their leather trousers and bracers too well-repaired, their weapons and steel breastplates too well-made and maintained. Seven of them in all. Mercenaries, she guessed, noting the rough look of them despite the high-grade of their gear. She turned in a small circle as they surrounded her, gauging their movements.

"I give you fair warning," she said, studying their faces. "Put up your swords and leave. Now. And I won't kill you."

As she'd expected, the standard warning was met with derisive laughter. She shook her head. Mercenaries, of all people, should understand what it meant to face a sword sworn of the Aleanian Temple. "Very well." She lifted her sword.
"Shall we?"

And she grinned.

If her movements hadn't given her away, her grin should have. Still they came at her, an all-out attack, seven at once. Not the best tactics, she thought as she danced away from them and into the clear, using only the briefest flicker of mind-hazing. The mercenaries got in each other's way, too many swords in too tight an area. They adapted quickly though. When they turned on her this time, they attacked two or three at a time.

She laughed as the fight got underway, rejoiced in the feel of her muscles moving, her skills being tried, her mind sharp and focused. Seven opponents was a good number--enough to make her work and stretch, not too many for her to handle. She twisted away from an awkward swing by one man, countered a blow by another, and disarmed a third with a back swing. As the disarmed man scrambled for his sword, another took his place. She didn't rush to incapacitate them. She was having too much fun. But she knew she'd have to take care of them soon. No point in exhausting herself. She still had a long way to go before she reached Dorjan's lands.

She hated to kill them, though. They were just doing a job. A job she had no doubt Dorjan had funded. But she couldn’t afford to have them at her back either. Maybe if she gave them a thorough enough beating... She disarmed two men and faced the four converging on her.

Suddenly, the air around them darkened, inky blackness too solid to be real. Rowena and the seven mercenaries stilled and looked around. A flash of blinding light, a crack like thunder. And a dark figure rose up in front of Rowena.
Even with his back to her, he was obviously male. His broad, thickly muscled body was encased in leather trousers and vest. His dark blond hair hung just above his collar in a tempting disarray of waves. What she could see of his pale skin gleamed silver in the moonlight.

The stranger raised a sword in front of him. From her position, Rowena watched the long blade come up over his head. The steel glowed purple.

The mercenaries backed away from the man, their weapons at the ready. Rowena kept a tight grip on her own sword in case the stranger turned. A moment later, the fine hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She heard the soft rumble of the stranger's voice, chanting, quiet, vibrating through her bones. She sucked in a breath and it felt as if the air had thinned.

Another blinding flash of light and power rolled over her in a heart-stopping wave. She dropped to one knee, ducking her head to brace against the storm winds of his spell. For an instant, all air was sucked away and she couldn't breathe. And then as suddenly as it happened, the light faded, the air calmed, and the dark night fell quiet.

Rowena dragged in a lungful of air, blinked to clear spots from her eyes and raised her head. All seven mercenaries lay unmoving, their swords blown beyond their grasp. She looked up at the stranger just as he turned around. Their gazes locked. It took a second, no more, before she recognized him, before the jolt of his presence ricocheted through her body.

She rose slowly to her feet, never taking her gaze from his green eyes. When she stood at her full 5'10" height, she straightened her shoulders, flicked a glance at the downed mercs, and said, "Kael, you bastard. You ruined a perfectly good fight. What the hell are you doing here?"

Dark eyebrows rose and his sexy mouth twitched at one corner. "Rowena," he murmured in a voice that made her thighs clench. "It's good to see you again too."

Okay, now a bit of NEWS: The print release of MARSHALL'S GUARD is going to be a little later than I understood. It's now going to be available in May 2007 (hopefully with no more delays!) As soon as it's available I'll let you know. In the meantime, don't let this delay stop you from picking up the e-book version of this award winning novel! :)

There's still no definite word on the release of SUM3. All I can say is it should be any day now. In the meantime, if you'd like to learn a little bit more about the anthology, we have our own official SUM3 webpage with plenty of information.

Welcome to the last week of Guess that Movie Quote Contest with quotes from Romantic Comedy movies.

After much waffling, I've gone with the slightly older film with the idea that probably more people have seen it. I'm holding the other line for a future contest. :)

Happy January! Although it feels more like spring here on the east coast of the U.S. But we've been assured winter weather is own it's way and with that wintry climate comes the need to stay inside with hot chocolate and a good book. And maybe a little contest fun online.

NEWS first: The contract has been signed and the cover art is finished so I can officially announce I will have a new fantasy romance novella called THE HERON'S CALL out from Samhain Publishing soon. The tentative release date is February 20th, but I'll post more when I have final dates. THE HERON'S CALL is set in the same mythical world as my short story, Kellyn's Sacrifce, so for a sneak peak be sure not to miss this short. The two tales are related as well, but I won't say more and risk a spoiler. This novella will be published first as an e-book and then later in paperback as part of a three author anthology called THE GLOAMING.

The brilliant author, Lacey Savage, has been kind enough to feature my Ellora's Cave Wild Winter Quickie CHRISTMAS HELP HER in her December newsletter. In her next issue, she will have a short interview with yours truly. Did everyone have a good Halloween? Now we're into the chilly days of November and the count down to Thanksgiving. Yay, a holiday dedicated to eating--you just gotta love that. We're going to have nachos and pumpkin pie this year. We're traditionalists :)

The anthology of Zircon Short Stories, SUM3, will be released from Zumaya Publications in early November. Now, for just a bit of NEWS before we get to this week's quote. First, my Ellora's Cave Wild Winter Quickie, CHRISTMAS HELP HER, will be released on December 13th! Yay. A lovely and auspicious date since 13 is a lucky number. :) I'll get a little blurb and excerpt up in the next couple of weeks.

The second bit of news is that the Zircon Short Story anthology (which I haven't had any news on myself in awhile) finally has a release date! Yay. The anthology, SUM3, will be released in e-book and print from Zumaya Publishing in early November. I think the e-release is first and roughly a week later the print book will be released. YAY! This is the book that has my Zircon award winning short story, The Last Guardian, as well as tons of other speculative romance short stories. I can't wait to read it myself!! As soon as I can get my hands on a copy of the cover art, I'll post it. And I'll let you know the minute the book is released.

Week 2 HINT for Guess that Paranormal Movie Quote

Okay, so I must have picked an extraordinarily difficult Quote this week! Sorry about that. I didn't realize it would be quite this tough. To make up for picking something extremely obscure, I'm gonna give you such a straight forward hint, you should get this easily.

HINT: The hero is played by Jack Nicholson. The heroine is played by Michelle Pfeiffer (for those of you interested in where the name Isabo came from--it came from the movie Lady Hawke and another Michelle Pfeiffer character ). Michelle Pfeiffer actually said this quote. The hero is involved in publishing (one of my favorite things!). The movie is paranormal (my other favorite thing!). And the bad guy is played by James Spader.

And my dad suggested another good hint: The title of the movie is one word which starts with a W and ends with an F. LOL!

Well that month just flew past! It's nearly October and that means Halloween. Yay! It also means the "Guess that Spooky/Paranormal Movie Quote" contest is coming soon. Yay, again! As I want to end the contest the day before Halloween, I'll be posting the first Quote on Monday October 2nd (the day before my husband's birthday, btw!). The final weekly winner and the grand prize winner will then be announced on October 30th.

More details on that soon!

In the meantime, I've had a Winter Quickie accepted by Ellora's Cave for publication, probably in December if all goes to plan. I'll keep you updated on that release as I know more. This story is a paranormal(ish) erotic romance, and I'll be very interested in hearing what you all think.

June is Heating Up

FIRST THE ANNOUNCEMENT: Cerridwen Press's Yahoo group loop is now hosting a regular event called Monday Madness. This Monday evening, June 19th, I'll be participating with four other authors in the Monday Madness from 8:00 to 10:30pm (EDT). We'll be talking about our CP releases, answering questions, posting excerpts and giving away prizes. I have the middle slot, 9:00 to 9:30, and will be featuring THIEF'S DESIRE. If you're not part of the loop already, join immediately! It's great fun and you get to meet some really fabulous authors.

In July, I'll be doing another Monday Madness chat, this time featuring MARSHALL'S GUARD. I'm currently scheduled for July 24, at 9:30pm.

Well RT went wonderfully. I had a great time, visited with lots of people and made some brilliant new friends. Then I took off on a mad trip to Ireland, Italy, Spain and back to Ireland for a Scottish/Irish wedding. Lots of kilts on display--very fun. I'm back and settling in now, but have you ever noticed how hard it is to come home from a good holiday and actually get back to work?

SO TO THE NEWS: Due to a rearrangement of editors at Cerridwen Press, I'm still waiting for a release date for DESTINY'S SEDUCTION. I'll let you know as soon as I have one. Shouldn't be too much longer now! I came back from my holiday to two really excellent reviews for THIEF'S DESIRE. And MARSHALL'S GUARD received a lovely 4 star review in the June issue of RT Bookclub (yay!). You can read excerpts of these reviews here on the site. Oh my, it's nearly May! Where did the last month go? (Visiting with my friend AB who came all the way from Ireland to see me--well and see New York. Hi AB!)

A little late in mentioning this, but THIEF'S DESIRE was re-released from Cerridwen Press at the beginning of the month. Yay! Edits for the sequel DESTINY'S SEDUCTION are well underway. I'll let you know when I have a release date for that novel.

Also, for those of you going, or in the vicinity, I'll be attending the Romantic Times Booklovers convention in Daytona Beach, Florida from May 16 to 21. Myself and a number of other Cerridwen Press and Ellora's Cave authors will be sponsoring a special promotion. Watch this space for further details! And please feel free to come up and say Hi if you're there!

Celebrate Romance was great fun this year. I met a lot of lovely new people and got time to chat with old friends. Plus, I won three different baskets and came home with 24 new books and at least two new favorite writers. A booklovers dream weekend! Next year the conference is in Kansas City, and I'm already planning on attending again.

I got some excellent news this week.

Two of my novels, MARSHALL'S GUARD and DESTINY'S SEDUCTION, were both finalists in the science fiction/fantasy romance category of the 2005 RIO Award of Excellence. I was in excellent company so I was outrageously pleased to find out on Monday that DESTINY'S SEDUCTION won 3rd place! Yay! Eddie Monster and I did a happy dance.

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners! An excellent group of books and authors are on that list.

For those of you interested in reading DESTINY'S SEDUCTION, it will be re-released from Cerridwen Press in the near future (we've commenced editing). More news on the release date soon.

Speaking of release dates--second yay!--THIEF'S DESIRE will be making its Cerridwen Press debue on April 6th! It's up on the Coming Soon page now. My lovely webmistress has already uploaded the new cover art for THIEF and DESTINY. I would loved to hear what you guys think of the cover art. I'm very curious about this.

I'll be at Celebrate Romance this weekend (March 31- April 2) so anyone in the Long Beach, CA area, or already attending the conference, be sure to stop me and say Hi!

Mid Winter Report :)

Lots of good news to report this month.

THIEF'S DESIRE has been sent on to the line editor at Cerridwen Press, so I should have a re-release date soon. (yay!) Cerridwen is also going to be re-releasing DESTINY'S SEDUCTION (yahoo!). So two of my LTDBooks orphans now have a new home.

MARSHALL'S GUARD is getting a few lovely reviews, including an excellent 5 star, Recommended Read from Fallen Angel Reviews!

"This story was amazing. I couldn't put it down... I loved the action and suspense built into the storyline. Even the bad guys are interesting. This is definitely a recommended read."

All the proceeds of the sales of this book go to Breast Cancer research. It's a fabulous, fun read and it supports a very worthy cause. I highly recommend picking up a copy (or two ). Happy New Year

Okay, I'm a bit late. But it's been a manic new year already. I hope that means good things for the year to come (instead of more craziness!)

Sad news for the start of the year. LTDBooks is officially closed. THIEF'S DESIRE will be re-released by Cerridwen Press. We're in the editing process now, so I'll pass on the release date when I get it. I should have word of DESTINY'S SEDUCTION by the end of the month.

But for now, MARSHALL'S GUARD is officially available! You can purchase it in e-book format from Cerridwen Press . And this book is officially on the print schedule at Cerridwen. The paperback release is scheduled for August. I'll keep you updated.

Editing on the Zircon Short Story Anthology have started. My 2004 Zircon short story winner, THE LAST GUARDIAN, will be in the book along with the 2005 winner, finalists from both years and a selection of other superb short speculative romance stories. The book will be published by Zumaya Publication. We should have a title for the anthology soon.

And some of you may have noticed there's a slight change to the homepage. This is a set up my brilliant webmistress developed so that I don't have to hassle her with updates all the time. What do you think?

First, all the good news --

CONTEST WINNER: Congratulations, Liz Denler! Liz won an autographed, paperback copy of DESTINY'S SEDUCTION. Happy early Christmas! And thanks everyone who entered.

NEWS: I finally have a release date for my Cerridwen Press book, MARSHALL'S GUARD. The official release date is December 15, 2005! Yay, just in time for Christmas.

And CHRISTMAS PRESENT is now available at both Fictionwise and Echelon Press. Fallen Angel Reviews gave this novella a Recommended Read, Five Star review. Why not treat yourself to an "emotion-filled" paranormal romance for the season. Or better yet-get someone else to treat you to a new story.

MIXED BAG NEWS: As some of you may have heard, LTDBooks will be closing its doors at the end of this month (this is not good news). I truly enjoyed working with LTDBooks and will be very sad to see them go. The closing of LTDBooks has necessitated finding a new home for some of my soon-to-be-orphans.

So far, Cerridwen Press has contracted to publish THIEF'S DESIRE (this is the good news). They are also looking at DESTINY'S SEDUCTION and will hopefully be interested in publishing that book too. I will have to let you know about a possible new home for THE PROMISE OF KIERNA'RHOAN - this is going to depend on a few things. When I have a new release date for THIEF'S DESIRE, I will be sure to post the information here.

But remember, you can still buy THIEF'S DESIRE, DESTINY'S SEDUCTION, THE PROMISE OF KIERNA'RHOAN, and the DREAM QUEST anthology from LTDBooks until the end of this month - they're having a big sale too, so buying yourselves an early Christmas present might be in order.
